Play Therapy Fun Blocks

Message From Our President

Welcome to AAPT!

I am honored to be President of AAPT and to serve on the board in this capacity. It is a privilege to be part of this great organization. I am very passionate about play therapy and all of the amazing research that is being done to further grow the field. I use play therapy daily in my work with families, children, teens, and adults at Oasis Counseling for Women and Children in Birmingham.

We hope you find our website and newsletters informative and useful as your resource for play therapy issues in Alabama. Through our social media accounts, we strive to keep you updated. We are here to serve our members and promote play therapy throughout our state. I welcome your ideas and feedback about promoting and using play therapy to enhance the lives of children, adults and families in Alabama.

AAPT continues to work to provide amazing educational opportunities to help enhance the play therapy field and give our members the opportunity to attend presentations by highly regarded practitioners. We have exciting speakers lined up for our next several state workshops that typically take place in June and January.

I want to take a moment to thank all of the past presidents and officers of the board; without them and their contributions to our association we would not be where we are today. 2017/2018 is an exciting year for AAPT–It is the 25th anniversary of the founding of our association. The board is working to organize ways to celebrate and honor everyone who has contributed so much to our association!

Please sign up for our email Newsletter and follow us on Facebook and Twitter.

Thank you for this wonderful opportunity!

Playfully,
