Regional Conferences

Regional conferences are a great way to have play therapy promoted in your area!  Most regional conferences would include one major speaker on any topic in play therapy that you feel your area needs.  They can be either half day conferences or all day conferences.  Also continuing education credits can be earned.

What are some of the benefits to having a regional conference?

  • It is an opportunity to promote play therapy
  • Allows a larger audience to learn about the benefits of play therapy
  • Networking with other professionals
  • Learning about a specific play therapy topic
  • Earning continuing education credits without excessive travel

Why do we want to plan regional conferences?

We feel that by planning local conferences like these, play therapy can be promoted in many more areas of the state. These conferences will also provide additional resources and training for those familiar with play therapy.  It also allows local groups to invite therapists unfamiliar with play therapy to a local workshop and educate a wider audience about this type of therapy.

We want people to be aware of what play therapy is and its benefits because it is something we believe in. Having these conferences allows us to accomplish this goal and benefit our members and friends.

Are you interested in hosting a regional conference in your area? If so then please download and mail the attached form.  You may mail it to the address on the form or you may email Dwight Wilson who is in charge of these trainings at d.wilson@alabamaplaytherapy.org.  Simply provide all the information requested on the form in your email.

Someone will contact you to find out more about your interest.

Random Play Quote

If animals play, this is because play is useful in the struggle for survival; because play practices and so perfects the skills needed in adult life. — Susanna Miller
