Synopsis
Being familiar with and consistently upholding ethical standards are key components to providing quality mental health care. This two part workshop will focus on various aspects of the ethical standards that should be upheld by therapists. We will also address current issues which can require ethical consideration such as the use of facebook, twitter and texting clients. We have divided the workshop into two components. If you need six hours of ethics which is required by ABEC to renew an LPC license register for the whole day. If you need less hours then you may register for the morning OR the afternoon session depending on your interest. Details regarding each session are included in this brochure
Registration
Spaces are not guaranteed until your registration is processed. Mail in registration must be postmarked by March 26, 2011. Online Registration deadline is March 28, 2011. After that you must register on-site at the higher rate. To mail in your registration order only if registering by mail. No Purchase orders accepted.
Group registration is available only by mail.
This workshop is presented in two parts. You may register for either part or all day. PLEASE CHECK WHICH SESSION YOU ARE REGISTERING FOR.

Cancellations
Registrants canceling up to 48 hours before a workshop will receive a tuition refund less a $20 administrative fee or if requested a voucher good for one year for a future workshop. All requests must be made in writing or by email. No refunds issued for any reason after March 30, 2011. You may choose to substitute someone after this deadline but you must notify AAPT of the change. In the unlikely event the workshop cannot be held due to weather, registrants will receive complimentary admission to a rescheduled workshop or a full value voucher, good for one year, for a future workshop. If the workshop cannot be held due to lack of registrations full refunds will be provide.

Parking
Visitors to The Family Guidance Center can park in the lot in front of Building D. Watch for AAPT signs to direct you where to go for the workshop.

There are many options for lunch within driving distance of Family Guidance Center. Options will be provided the day of the workshop.

Continuing Education Credit
For this seminar a total of 6 Contact Hours will be provided for the full day which will consist of two separate sessions. If registering for only one session, 3 Contact Hours will be provided. Participants must sign in and sign out at the conference. No certificate of attendance will be given before the conference is completed. No partial credit will be awarded.
Because of the focus of this workshop there will be NO play therapy credit offered.
Counselors: The Alabama Association for Play Therapy (AAPT) is recognized by the National Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC) to offer continuing education for counselors. AAPT adheres to NBCC continuing education guidelines. NBCC Provider No. 6211.
Social Workers: AAPT is recognized by the Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners to offer continuing education for social workers. AAPT adheres to Alabama State Board of Social Work Examiners continuing education guidelines. ASBSWE Provider No. 0284.
Marriage and Family Therapists: The ABEMFT automatically approves courses that are NBCC approved for CEU credit.
