Also, we are pleased to announce that the Alabama Association for Play Therpay is now on Facebook. Check it out here and become a fan. Information other than your name is not posted nor available for viewing by others if you have your privacy settings set correctly. We are working to become a more “green” organization which will mean less paper and less mailing so emails, blogs and facebook are a great way to keep you informed and help the environment.
We hope to see you at the workshop because its one you won’t want to miss!
We hope you find it informative and useful as your link to play therapy in Alabama. Throughout the last couple of years we have seen many changes in our organization, from our new website to the development and implementation of new regional networking groups. We are proud of these changes and hope they are helpful to you as you enhance your knowledge and practice of play therapy.
I want to take a minute to thank all of the past presidents and officers of the board, without them and their contributions to our association we would not be where we are today. I can truly say that AAPT is a product of their vision and creativity. I am honored to serve the board in this capacity and to be in the company of so many great play therapists. I welcome your ideas and feedback about promoting and using play therapy to enhance the lives of children, adults and families in Alabama.
On behalf of the board of directors, I invite you to take a moment to view some key elements of our website we think you might find useful. We are especially proud of our membership and training areas. We hope you see these areas to consider the many benefits of membership that are outlined under these tabs. Our training section will provide you with regional and statewide training opportunities to further your knowledge and skills in play therapy and provide you with CEUs that are locally available. Please sign up for our blog and check the website frequently to stay updated on all things related to play therapy in Alabama.
As a New Year’s gift to you we have decided to extend the early bird registration rate on our January workshop entitled Play Therapy Techniques for Skill Building in Children with ADHD up through January 25th. Please feel free to pass this along to colleagues that may be in need of GREAT ideas for successfully working with children with ADD/HD. You can forward this email to them and encourage them to sign up for the blog.
We are working to create more regional workshops so if you would like to host one in your area be sure to let us know.
