How Can Play Therapy Help Step Families?

On May 29, 2009 AAPT and Troy University will be sponsoring a regional workshop on the campus of Troy University in Dothan. The workshop will focus on step family issues and play therapy. Topics such as:

  • successful integration of blended families
  • building a healthy identity in children
  • and the realities of parenting (and grand-parenting)

Issues that occur across the lifespan will be addressed in a practical fun filled with Dr. Rebecca Jacobson. Online and mail in registration information can be found here.

Please join us and pass this information along to colleagues. Also, please remember all regional workshops will only be advertised through the website and the blog so encourage your colleagues to sign up.

Also, for those of you that attended Dr. Rubin’s Super Heroes workshop, we have made his extensive bibliography available for download on our homepage — just look for the lightning bolt!

Please also remember that the AAPT website is full of informational links and articles for professionals interested in play therapy as well as families who are beginning work with a play therapist. Be sure to check out these areas on the site and let us know if there is anything you would like to see added.

Happy Spring Time From AAPT!
